I always painted and drew as a young child. I can remember hanging my artwork throughout my grandparent's house and my Grandpa insisting that I go back and sign all of the work claiming that "this was what real artists do and besides, they were going to be worth something some day." As a teenager I wasn't fond of school and found it difficult to fit in. Art was my outlet, painting was my self assurance.
I graduated in 1997 from York University with my Bachelor of Fine Arts, honors degree. I spent the next several years in pursuit of what felt like the impossible... how to make a decent living in the arts. I worked in set design, furniture building, carpentry, welding, and mirror frame manufacturing. In 2002, my artistic career peaked when my masterpiece, Seth, was born. He inspires me every day to be the best person possible and to always remain true to myself. I feel very fortunate to have a supportive husband who encouraged me to stay home with our son and follow my inner desire to be a painter. Every day I spend in my studio fulfills me and I am continually humbled by the support of those who love my work. I currently live in a century farmhouse near Tamworth, Ontario that my husband and I share with our son and my two step-daughters.
