From the beginning the process of transferring paint to canvas has struck me as magical. Over the years, that magical process has had its way with me, leading me from hobbyist to artist. Painting fills me with a sense of accomplishment and integrity, and has proven a most amenable vehicle for translating inner vision to outer reality.

I was humbled four years ago by the birth of my son Seth. He frees my imagination, providing opportunities for happy accident and grace to influence the finished product. Recently I observed Seth creating. I discovered through his drawings: simple, crayoned patchworks, that now resonate deeply within my own abstract work. Inspired and invigorated by a renewed sense of continuity, and awed by the mystery of how creation occurs, I am now painting richly varied works; exploring many patterns, textures and colours.

I paint from the inside out. Painting is where I find balance, where I express serenity, where I communicate purity.
